Southern Illinois Orthopedic Center, attached to our Herrin office, provides outpatient surgeries for orthopaedic, spine, and podiatry needs.

The Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois has an ambulatory surgery center, Southern Illinois Orthopedic Center (SIOC), that is located and directly attached to our Herrin, Illinois office. Our highly skilled staff members will care for you with compassion and respect, providing state-of-the-art treatment in a convenient and comfortable environment. Our surgeons work with the highly skilled staff members to provide state-of-the-art outpatient orthopaedic surgery in a convenient and comfortable environment. Our facility is equipped with advanced medical equipment in order to provide safe, high-quality services to people suffering from an array of joint problems. We care for the well-being of patients in a clinically excellent and service-oriented manner.

Anesthesia

Your surgery experience at SIOC may consist of a preoperative interview with a member of the anesthesia department prior to your surgery. Our goal is to meet with all of our patients prior to surgery in order to evaluate your health history and determine the appropriate type of anesthesia required. The necessary labs or the need for a chest x-ray or EKG will be determined at this time. The diagnostic testing may be performed at SIOC or at one of the local hospitals if more convenient for you. We perform chest x-rays, EKGs and draw blood for laboratory testing at the Center. These diagnostic tests will be performed on the day of your preoperative interview if ordered by the surgeon or the anesthesiologist.

Payment For Orthopaedic Surgery

  • Surgery Instructions - Information on how to prepare for your upcoming surgery.
  • Patient Registration Form - Required for all patients. You may complete it prior to your appointment or you have the option to complete it during the preoperative interview or on the day of surgery.
  • Authorization for Surgery - You can review this information before your preoperative interview. It will be completed either during your preoperative interview or on the day of surgery.
  • Pre-Anesthesia Questionnaire - Required for all patients. You may complete it prior to your appointment or you have the option to complete it during the preoperative interview or on the day of surgery.

We at Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality and safest orthopaedic care to the people of Southern Illinois.

In the interest of protecting our patients and employees, we have instituted the following procedures:

In following the CDC guidelines, while inside our facilities, all employees, patients, and visitors over the age of 2 will be required to wear a mask at all times when not actively eating or drinking.

With the exception of a single parent accompanying a minor or a designated caregiver accompanying an impaired adult, we will limiting the number of visitors accompanying patients to ensure safe social distancing wtihin our facilities. .

At this time, we will continue to provide full physician services in the office as well as physical and occupational therapy, imaging, pain management, and walkin clinic services for your immediate, acute orthopaedic needs.

We are working closely with our hospital partners for the continued provision of urgent and emergent orthopaedic care.
